ITINERARY

Day 1.Arrive Cochin

Arrive Cochin by flight. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Cochin. One of the finest natural harbors on the Arabian Sea coast, Kochi earlier known as Cochin, is the oldest European settlement in India. Modern Cochin is a splendid mosaic myriad where Portuguese architecture and British influences all blend harmoniously with the basic thread of Kerala’s rich heritage. Here you can also see the oldest church in India. Afternoon visit to the Dutch Palace originally built by the Portuguese, which houses a fine collection of mural paintings. The Jewish Synagogue built in 1568 & magnificently decorated with Chinese tiles and Belgian chandeliers. Visit the St. Francis Church, which is the oldest church, built by Europeans in India. See the Chinese Fishing nets that line the tip of Fort Cochin and which are the only ones of their kind in India. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2.Cochin – Periyar (Thekkady)

After breakfast drive from Cochin to Periyar a journey of about five hours. Overnight stay in Periyar.
Afternoon visit Thekkady. It is one of the best places to visit tea, coffee and spice gardens. Adjacent is the Periyar wild Life Sanctuary with its unsullied grasslands and “Blue Mountains”.Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3Periyar

Afternoon Game Viewing by common boat on Periyar Lake. A boat ride in the lake running through the sanctuary provides an opportunity to watch wild animals such as Elephants, Deer and scores of Water Birds. A guided walk through the serene forest with beautiful birds and scent of the woods is a wonderful and invigorating experience. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 4Periyar – Kumarakom

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom a journey of about four hours. Evening enjoy the sunset at Kumarakom lake. Overnight stay at Kumarakom for two nights. Bordered by the lofty Western Ghats on the east and the Vembanad Lake and paddy fields of Kuttanad on the west, Kottayam is a land of unique characteristics, panoramic backwater stretches, lush paddy fields, highlands and extensive rubber plantations.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5Kumarakom

Day free for independent activities. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6Kumarakom – Mararikulam

After breakfast depart from Kumarakom to Mararikulam, a journey of about two hours. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Mararikulam, a small village in Kerala inhabited by the local fisherman’s there. Life in this place hasn’t changed much in the last many decades. Men here continue to go for fishing in the morning while the Ladies perform the necessary household cores. This small village is a host to numerous soft sand beaches that promises one a holiday that will relieve him from all worries and tensions amidst this beautiful place with vast expanse of land, water and swaying palm trees.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 7Mararikulam

Day free for independent activities.Overnight at Hotel.

Day 8Mararikulam – Cochin – Departure

After breakfast, depart by road from Mararikulam to Cochin a journey of about 02 hours. On arrival transfer to Cochin airport for your flight to onward destination
